Born in the temple town of Chidambaram, raised among the palaces of Mysore, after working as a technologist and computer scientist, I now write and live in Sydney.
My novels present strong women, confident in their talent, resolute in pursuing their passion, ignoring the social injustice that threatens their identity. The voices of the characters in my stories are as much part of a multicultural fabric, as I am, sympathetic to an ancient culture, yet accessible to a global audience.
As I journey through life and travel around the world, it is fair to say that Tanjore history has found me rather than me looking back at my heritage.
Woven as a tapestry of facts and fiction, set around temples and forts, my novels feature characters from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century, when Europe’s gaze was set on India.

Etched in Gold
Etched in Gold is my first historical novel that traces the journey of two South Indian women separated by time and geography, yet connected by their love of music. Constrained by the cultural norms of their societies, both pursue their passion and push through the barriers that threaten their voices.
